Welcome to Brevard County! There are many different varieties of fruit trees that can be grown here. Our members have stretched the limits in the Brevard County area. Below are a list of trees that are successfully growing and fruiting in Brevard County. And we add more and more trees every year. Each tree/plant description below has a brief write-up and links to additional information about the fruit trees. All our information comes from the University of Florida, Institute of Food and Agricultural Sciences (UF/IFAS) database. Our Master Gardeners are trained through the Extension Office in Cocoa Florida.
Mango trees are our members favorite tree. If you find a member who does not have a mango in their yard, they just ran out of room. Mangos are a must to have.

Lychees are natures little delights. This tree has been successfully grown in this county for many years. We have a few members that have 30 year old trees. Another must have fruit tree.

If you don't have a Lychee tree, you have to have a Longan tree. Longans are the little brother of Lychees. Just as delicious and just as productive as Lychees.

Black Sapote is not your everyday tree. it's a sub-tropical fruit tree that has been successfully grown in Brevard.

Mulberries are a great kids delight. They are easy and ready to eat right off the tree. And many different varieties are growing in Brevard.

The strawberry tree (Jamaican Cherry) is another kid friendly tree. The fruit from the tree has been said to taste like cotton-candy. Many members have this fruit tree in their yard for a great conversation starter.

The Moringa tree has been called the "miracle" tree. This tree is very easy to grow in Brevard. Has tremendous health benefits and will grow in poor soil conditions. (Sand)
Loquats have been around a long time. You can see these trees everywhere in Brevard County. They have a small sweet fruit and this tree can put out tons of fruit.
The Atemoya is a cross between a sugar apple and a Cherimoya. It's a subtropical fruit tree that is slowly gaining popularity in Brevard County. This sweet tasting fruit is something to try.
Jabuticaba is a slow-growing evergreen that produces a grape like fruit on the trunk of the tree. Another tree that is growing in the hearts of BTFC members.
Papayas are like coconut trees in Miami, everywhere. These trees are hard to miss when they are loaded down with fruit. If you want a extremely productive tree in your yard, you can't go wrong with papayas.
Bananas trees in Brevard are like weeds, they are everywhere. And the many different varieties are extensive.
Do you want a guarantee food source? Cassava is a plant for you. This plant is a fast grower. And easy to propagate. You can literally break off a limb and throw it on the ground and it will grow.
Dragon Fruit is one of those strange fruits that most people would pass by in the store. It looks strange, but is very beneficial for you. It's another BTFC member favorite.
Longevity spinach, also known as the longevity green, is a veggie plant famous worldwide .It thrives in tropical climates which makes Brevard County a perfect location.
